  We have all had an awesome day.  A big group of us went for a 3 hour walk around Aysgarth falls! We have also enjoyed ice creams from the local ice cream parlour (black cherry whim wham! yum!)   Simon thanked us tonight for all the hard work we have done over the last 3 days. We have completed 35 of the 45 jobs on the list.  We are now looking forward to smores and a bonfire later on!    Pictures to follow.   

   

   

   

   

   

   

   

   

We’re going on a group walk. I hope there is none of these! lots of photos to follow!        

This afternoon we have been on a prayer walk! We’ve been to various places around the site, as well as each cabin, and prayed that God would bless that area and the people who will visit in the future.     

   

   

First up:   ”wow these Claygate lot have achieved so much! They’ve set the baaa-r”       

   

   

   

  The weather may be dull today but our enthusiasm certainly isn’t! This morning we have carried on with making sure jobs get crossed off the list! The benches have been painted. A team has re-barked (is that a word?!) the children’s play area,  the handrail on the stairs has also been painted, and the stairs have been swept.  The road needed some attention and pot holes have been filled. As you can see from the photos, we were on our hands and knees clearing the gutters of stones!   Tea break now and the rain has started. Please pray it is only a short shower

We are  now at the end of day one! The prayer barn has had the first row of insulation installed in the roof! New bark has been laid in the children’s park. Mountains of gravel have been moved by a team of hard workers!   Jonas Centre is also in bloom, thanks to the amazing garden team who had decorated the whole site with beautiful flowers.  Time to wind down and look forward to day two!         

  We’ve had a busy day so far! As you can see from the photos, we have been planting, spreading gravel and repairing the prayer barn!  We have also been painting fences and covering the boilers in the refurbished cabins.    Its amazing how much work we have done and the day is not even over yet! A cracking first lunch was happily enjoyed! Yum!          

We woke to more great weather! Becky led us in a ‘wake up shake up’ session. It’s fair to say we were awake afterwards! Harry then led us in our morning prayer time. We explored the parable where Jesus fed the crowd of 5000. Harry helped us to see that “Jesus is not any old bread, he is the premium bread”! We then reflected and prayed for those in the world who do not have food.    We’re now all ready to get to work! Lots of painting, gardening and repairs to be done!          

We have arrived!   We have now all arrived at The Jonas Centre, and we appear to have bought the sun with us! The weather is glorious!   Everyone has settled into their cabins, Debbie and her team have served us the first of many amazing meals, and we have been paired with our buddies.    Simon has briefed us on the plan for the week and why we are here. This is truly a special place and each one of us cannot wait to get started tomorrow morning!
